Sand Gone in the Final 3 For The Next Big Thing Dallas Market Center

National Product Search Contest Finalists Announced

April 13, 2010

DALLAS – April 13, 2010 – Dallas Market Center, the world’s most complete wholesale marketplace, today announced the finalists for The Next Big Thing national product search contest – Clothes and Go, Sand Gone, and Sutton Baking Cups. Now you have the opportunity to help one of these finalists win by casting your vote on Facebook for your favorite product. The winner will receive a prize package worth $15,000.

Clothes and Go, based in Dallas, Texas, is a unique solution for moving clothing on hangers. Clothes are removed from the closet on hangers, placed in the Clothes and Go bag and then easily carried and put in your vehicle. Clothes and Go eliminates the need for traditional moving boxes and hanging rods while taking a fraction of the time to move. It is made of durable, lightweight, water resistant material that includes ties to attach hangers, Velcro to secure the items, and handles to carry the bag over the shoulder.

Myra Prescott and Julie Tobolowsky, founders of Clothes and Go, noticed the need for an easier way to move clothing through their own personal experiences moving six kids to college. There wasn’t a product on the market that allowed for the transport of clothing on hangers in little space that minimized the need for ironing after transport. Clothes and Go was created in 2007 and soft launched in February of 2010. For more information about Clothes and Go visit www.clothesandgo.com.

Sand Gone, based in Winter Springs, Florida, is a dry body powder that when applied to sandy parts of your body removes the sand, leaving your skin soft and smooth. Great for the beach or the sand box, the all-natural non-talc powder comes in an eight ounce container with a body puff that makes the powder easy to apply, and a coconut scent which gives the product a beach smell.

Tiffany Smith, founder of Sand Gone, spent many years on the beach with her two children always having the task of cleaning the sand off their bodies. She wanted to find a better solution for dealing with this messy chore than having to use water. She discovered a trick to remove sand, without water that was both natural and practical. To learn more about Sand Gone visit www.sandgone.com.

Sutton Baking Cups, based in Cordova, Tennessee, are premium, designer cupcake liners that do not lose color or design (like typical liners) after they are baked. This holds true even with chocolate baked goods, which distort the designs of other cupcake liners. The diverse designs range from vintage textile patterns to fun, colorful prints.

Founder Kellie Sutton was inspired to develop the Sutton Baking Cups when she noticed the beautiful designs on regular cupcake liners would lose color and design after baking. She was perplexed that she could not find a cupcake liner that would consistently maintain its integrity throughout the baking process. Sutton spent three years developing the product and worked with a manufacturer to create the baking cups. Her company, Sutton Gourmet Paperie, was formed in February 2010. For more information about Sutton Baking Cups visit www.suttongourmetpaperie.com.

The Next Big Thing contest received applications from throughout the country from product designers, entrepreneurs, stay-at-home moms, and other creative minds. The contest allows up-and-comers, whether companies or individuals, to show their product(s) in front of domestic and international retail buyers at Dallas Market Center.

Information and images of the finalists’ innovative products are now available at www.dallasmarketcenter.com/contestfinalists along with voting instructions. Voting begins Tuesday, April 13 at 8 a.m. and ends June 25 at midnight CDT. Once you review the products visit www.facebook.com/dallasmarketcenter to cast your vote by clicking on the “poll” tab. The winner is selected based on a combination of judges’ feedback and popular vote. The winner will be announced on Saturday, June 26 at 3 p.m. during the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market.

The finalists will exhibit before an estimated 50,000 attendees from all 50 states and more than 84 countries during the upcoming FINDS Dallas Temp Show, June 25-28, 2010, which coincides with the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market, June 23-29.

Judges from consumer and trade publications will help select the winner based on the finalists’ product, trade space presentation, and sell ability during the Market. The winner will receive a prize package worth more than $15,000 including a new $5,000 cash prize, exhibit space at the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market, January 19-25, 2011, a profile in one of Dallas Market Center’s award-winning custom publications, consultations from leading industry experts regarding branding, public relations, visual merchandising and much more.

Sand Gone: A Must for Beach-Goers (WIN)

April 16, 2010 by Erin Tales

When I was in my tweens, I hated the beach. I much preferred the pool. Why? Sand. I knew it was uncomfortable as a kid, but as a tween it drove me bonkers to be sticky and sandy. By then I was happier to be by and in chlorinated water.

As an older teen, I started liking the beach more, with the sound of the waves and warm sun – but I did everything I could to avoid getting wet and sandy. Then I got married and my husband dealt with my idiosyncrasy. We went to Hawaii for our honeymoon and while he got wet and sandy, I lounged on the beach. I loved it.

But then kids came … and you can’t seem to keep a toddler or preschooler from getting wet, sandy and sticky at the beach. And I had to leave the comfort zone of my pristine towel and sit at the shore’s edge, building sand castles, digging holes and chasing crabs. And I loved every second of it … except the sand.

Now, I cannot be the only one like this! In fact, I just discovered a product that is a must for beachgoers – Sand Gone! It is a light powder that you dust on after you get sandy … and the sand just falls off. Plus, your skin feels so smooth! It smells great, like the beach. It seems like they somehow caught the fragrance of the seawind, salt water and a little bit of sun lotion and added it to the powder!

I have been anxiously awaiting an opportunity to try this with the sticky sand on the East Coast of Florida, but we still haven’t made it out there yet … it’s a bit of a drive for us. But you know where else this works…something moms will LOVE! Sand boxes and sandy playgrounds. Many playgrounds use fine sand as their base for kids to run around in and shovel. But many parents are fretful with the amount of sand the kids get on them. But just like you put sun lotion on the kids before they play, now you can dust the sand off your kids with this powder! And it’s good for backyard sand boxes too!

Now that it is warming up, be sure to pack your summer totes with towels, sun lotion, kids sunglasses and yours, uv shirts, change of clothes, flip flops/sandals – and SAND GONE! Keep the sand where it belongs … at the beach, not your car or home!

SAND GONE is non-toxic, non-talc, easy to apply and use, smells great, feels smooth, is priced right and is awesome.

It's so exciting to participate in something that really makes a difference in someone's life and this is one of them. Surfer's For Autism.
A friend of mine who has a son on the Autism Spectrum introduced me to the President of Surfer's For Autism Don Ryan she thought Sand Gone would be a perfect match to be one of the sponsor's.
I'm so blessed to meet Don and his wife Kimberly the two of them are so passionate and devoted to Surfer's For Autism.
Sand Gone headed to South Fl this weekend for the 3rd Annual Surfer's For Autism in Deerfield Beach Fl. What a great day over a 1000 people participated.
Even NBC News was there to do a story about what a great impact Surfing has on children with Autism. It's a very heart warming experience to see a parents face light up with joy watching there child laughing and smiling on the surf board.
